About Skagit Valley Orchard
Our Story
At Skagit Valley Orchard, we are a WDVA certified veteran-owned and operated family-farm bringing high quality dessert apples to the communities of the Skagit Valley region. SVO is a small farm at just under 5 working acres, yet will have over 5,000 apple trees planted in nine cultivars that provide 3 months of staggered ripening from mid-Aug to late-Oct. Planting date currently is scheduled for April 1, 2025, with the first harvest beginning in August 2026.
Our Products
Fresh farm-to-table U-pick apples are the primary product of Skagit Valley Orchard. You can expect to find Royal Red Honeycrisp®, WA-38 (marketed as Cosmic Crisp®), Simmons Gala, BL-14 Gala, Foxtrot Gala, Aztec Fuji®, Jonastar®, and Ambrosia. The Orchard will be expanding its product offerings over the next couple years to include fresh sweet apple cider, local honey, crabapple jam, and apple butter. We are passionate about growing apples and are dedicated to using only sustainable practices incorporating a zero waste model while maintaining our commitment to the highest quality product for our local community. Our Farming Practices
At Skagit Valley Orchard, we believe in sustainable farming practices that promote the health of our land, our crops, and our customers. We use organic fertilizers and pest control methods and conserve water through drip irrigation and extensive customized and state of the art automation incorporating AI to ensure that our farming practices are environmentally responsible. All byproducts removed from the field will be either sold as feed to turned into compost for sustainable soil enrichment.
